EXPLORING DYNAMIC SYSTEMS INC.

Dynamic Systems Inc. (DSI) is committed to advancing the state of the art in dynamic thermo-mechanical testing and physical simulation of materials and processes. For nearly 70 years, DSI has delivered innovative solutions that empower the global materials research and production community to better understand, develop, and manufacture advanced materials.

Headquartered in New York’s Tech Valley, DSI has grown from a small, pioneering organization into a globally recognized leader, supported by an international network of employees, partners, and customers. Today, Gleeble systems are widely regarded as the world standard for thermo-mechanical physical simulation, trusted by leading manufacturers, research institutions, and laboratories worldwide.

The first Gleeble system—named by one of its original developers—was designed to simulate the heat-affected zone of arc welding. Early enhancements introduced pneumatic capabilities, enabling basic mechanical testing. A major breakthrough came in 1979, when the Gleeble became the first system to integrate full resistance heating with hydraulic servo-controlled mechanical testing in a single platform. This innovation fundamentally changed how materials could be evaluated.

In the early 1980s, DSI further advanced the technology by incorporating computer-based control and data acquisition, significantly improving test precision, repeatability, and insight generation. Since then, Gleeble systems have evolved into highly sophisticated platforms that combine dynamic thermal and mechanical testing with advanced digital control systems, enabling highly accurate replication of real-world conditions.

This unique capability allows materials to be tested under the same thermal and mechanical conditions they experience during manufacturing and in-service use. As a result, organizations can gain deeper insight into material behavior, accelerate development cycles, and drive meaningful improvements in performance and productivity.

Today, DSI technology supports hundreds of applications across industries, helping customers determine material properties, optimize fabrication processes, and enhance end-use performance. From metals and alloys to advanced materials development, Gleeble systems play a critical role in solving complex engineering challenges.

As DSI approaches its 70th anniversary, the company remains focused on innovation, precision, and customer success. Building on decades of expertise, DSI is committed to supporting the evolving needs of the materials science community—today and for decades to come.
