Technical Sales Engineer 

We have an immediate opening
for a Technical Sales Engineer.  The Technical Sales Engineer will have a proven track record for selling high value capital equipment to industrial customers and universities and will ideally have a metallurgical, materials or mechanical engineering background. Specifically, the Technical Sales Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
 
Specific responsibilities include:

> Identify new business opportunities, matching customer needs with our solutions and managing the entire sales process from start to finish.
> The sales process will include identifying prospects, responding to inquiries, cold calling, qualifying opportunities, multiple forms of communication, drafting quotes, technical presentations, negotiations and contract review.  
> Travel to new and existing client locations worldwide to present technical seminars and lead discussions on our products and how they can be used in client applications.  
> Travel is approximately 50% annually. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. and must be able to travel internationally.
> DSI works with Trade Partners and Representatives throughout the world. The Technical Sales Engineer will support these partners to assist in the sales process.
> Candidate should be comfortable managing multiple opportunities at various stages in the sales process. Knowledge of Salesforce® CRM is a plus.
> The successful candidate will have experience navigating complex sales cycles
> The Technical Sales Engineer will contribute information to the organization by monitoring competitive products and reactions from accounts. He/She will update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and complete other duties as required.

Specifically, the successful candidate should have:
 
> Engineering degree required; Masters preferred, but not required.  Candidate should have five or more years of experience selling high value, technical equipment to a wide range of industries, including universities, research institutions and industrial organizations
> Sales experience in a related industry is preferred, including sales of laboratory, metallurgical or test equipment
> Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to make strong technical presentations
> The ability to seek new potential customers and translate customer needs into applications for our products
> Strong technical skills and the ability to interact effectively with the top technical people in this industry
> Collaborative skills; The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
> Knowledge of multiple languages is a plus. Please note languages spoken and fluency level.

Applications Metallurgist  
 

We have an immediate opening for an Applications Metallurgist.  This team member will have responsibility for working with existing and potential clients to determine the best way to utilize our products to solve their metallurgical research needs. Additionally, this position involves providing technical support to our sales staff and engineering group.   
 
Specific responsibilities include:

> Providing metallurgical technical support to our sales staff and sales representatives worldwide
   as they market and sell the Company’s products.
> Traveling to new and existing client locations worldwide to present technical seminars and
   lead discussions on our products and how they can be used in client applications.  Work with
   our Representatives to assist in technical aspects of the sales process.

> Providing metallurgical technical support to our service engineers as they interface with our clients.  

> Providing input and feedback on current and future products and applications to our product
   development teams.

> Working with engineers at our company and at customer sites to develop new metallurgical
   applications for our products.

> Providing technical assistance to marketing and sales staff as needed to insure the
   correct technical messages are conveyed in our marketing and sales efforts.

Qualifications:

Field Service Engineer (Electronics)


We have openings for Electronics Field Service Engineers to install, service and conduct training on our Materials Testing and Research Products at various locations around the world. As an engineer for DSI, you will be representing the leading company in the field of Dynamic Thermal Mechanical Physical Simulation Systems. This position involves extensive travel to Europe, Asia, North and South America. You will be interacting with leading scientists and engineers at some of the most prestigious materials research laboratories in the world. When not at customer sites you will be working at our factory and main office located near Albany, New York.
 
Qualified candidates should possess the following:

> a 4 year engineering degree in electronics or electrical engineering

> a minimum of 3 years experience in troubleshooting and servicing instrumentation
   and/or control systems

> excellent computer skills

> mechanical aptitude

> ability to read and understand schematics, logic diagrams and wiring drawings

> excellent organization and communications skills

> the ability to interact well with customers on a professional basis

> be able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines.

> ability to travel up to 50%

> Ideal Candidates will have experience in one or more of the following areas:

> Linux or QNX based control systems

> Servo hydraulics control systems

> Materials testing equipment troubleshooting and service
